Introduced to the collection by former Sunspel creative director Jonathan Anderson, it is made from high-quality cotton loopback fabric developed for warmth and comfort without bulk. Traditional details like the V-stitch neck and ribbed cuffs reference classic sportswear, while the neat fit allows it to be worn easily on its own or under a jacket.

Why the Sunspel Loopback Sweatshirt is different
When Jonathan Anderson was Sunspel's Creative Director, he discovered an early loopback fabric in the company's archive. Originally developed for thermal underwear, the fabric had a distinctive looped construction designed to provide warmth without unnecessary weight.
Drawing on Sunspel's long history of making comfortable underwear, Anderson reinterpreted the fabric in a contemporary sweatshirt, refining the traditional athletic design with carefully considered proportions and details. The result was a softer, more refined take on a classic sportswear garment, comfortable enough for everyday wear and smart enough to wear under a jacket.
